So desperate she’ll agree to be anyone’s partner, even Ivan Lukov’s. She’s already pushing age limits of the sport and she’s desperate. How on earth are they going to be able to create a connection on the ice? But Ivan is good – probably the best figure skater there is. He’s also the brother of Jasmine’s best friend and pretty much the bane of her entire existence.

Ivan is the darling of the figure skating circuit – you name it, he’s won it. She is a pairs figure skater without a partner until she’s approached by Ivan Lukov and his coach. She’s never lived up to her potential and hasn’t ever won anything and has gained a reputation as being “difficult” after a couple of incidents. Jasmine is a mid-20s figure skater who has never pulled the trigger. A previous book, Dear Aaron centres around Jasmine’s sister Ruby and how she meets her husband so chances are, that book might’ve provided the background information I was looking for on who was who etc but honestly, I love Jasmine’s family and thought they were such a great part of the story, even when they were being embarrassing as hell. Look, I got the feeling I was missing something with Jasmine’s big, messy but fun family and after a bit of flicking through the rest of the books, it turns out I was right. Like books that are pretty lengthy? Read Mariana Zapata Until now, I had not ever read any Mariana Zapata but I’ve been trying out Kindle Unlimited (having switched my subscription to a KU one, although I’m on a 2 month free trial atm) and her books are (mostly) available to read and I really liked the idea of a book set in a figure skating world, so I chose this one to start with. Like character driven stories? Read Mariana Zapata. Like enemies to lovers? Read Mariana Zapata. Okay so chances are if you ever have read romance recommendations, you’ve seen praise for this author. Blurb : If someone were to ask Jasmine Santos to describe the last few years of her life with a single word, it would definitely be a four-letter one.Īfter seventeen years-and countless broken bones and broken promises-she knows her window to compete in figure skating is coming to a close.īut when the offer of a lifetime comes in from an arrogant idiot she’s spent the last decade dreaming about pushing in the way of a moving bus, Jasmine might have to reconsider everything.
